EPP offer expert CRO services at CPhI Worldwide
CPhI Worldwide is the major pharmaceutical industry event of the year and EPP Ltd exhibited expert CRO services on the Scottish Development International (SDI) stand along with nine other Scottish companies.
Held in Barcelona, Spain, CPhI attracted more than 36,000 people in attendance over the three days and with over 150 countries represented. The exhibition took place over eight halls and the vast variety of exhibiting companies covered all areas of the pharma supply chain. Representing EPP was Lorna Kennedy, our R&D and Small Scale Manufacturing Manager, along with Sarah Farr, our Business Development Executive.
With 25 years’ worth of experience serving the human health industry EPP has developed a range of expert CRO services and is well positioned to handle a variety of custom synthesis tasks for those companies requiring compounds which are not commercially available. With experience of over 200 actives and their related impurities, degradants and metabolites, complex molecules are synthesised and certified by our skilled synthetic chemists to be used as analytical reference standards.
Sarah noted that ‘CPhI is the largest pharma event in the world with all the major companies present. It is an excellent opportunity for us to engage with them and promote EPP and our excellence. Though we may be small, the services we provide are world-class.’
‘SDI created a brilliant environment to represent the growing chemical industry in Scotland. The variety of Scottish companies on the stand was excellent and it provided a focal point from which to conduct meetings. In addition, the temptation of whisky tasting on Tuesday afternoon meant that there was certainly a heightened interest in Scottish exports.’
Lorna and Sarah also attended the networking reception set up in partnership by SDI, Chemicals Industry Association (CIA) and Department for International Trade (DIT) on the rooftop at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Barcelona. It was an excellent opportunity to promote British companies in Spain and network with those within the wider industry. The industry talks were very interesting, noting that the UK chemicals industry sustains 500,000 jobs across the UK and contributes £75 million every day to the economy. The chemical industry in Scotland, as well as its impressive list of world class universities, continues to thrive as it is regarded highly as a leading country.
The next event EPP will be attending is AgroChemEx in Shanghai, China from 16th-18th October. Dr Stephen Newlands, Scientific Director and founder, along with Sarah Farr, Business Development Executive will be attending the event.
