EPP strengthen environmental sciences team to meet demand

Since the launch of EPP’s refurbished Environmental Centre in 2014 we have enjoyed increased demand for our ecotoxicology and environmental science services. As a result of a recent major new client win we have recruited an experienced Study Director, Liam Burns, to enhance the existing environmental sciences team.

????????????????????????????????????

Liam has been appointed as Study Director of Environmental Fate to design, control and report on ecotoxicology and environmental science studies involving pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, veterinary products or chemicals.

James Stuart, Managing Director of EPP, stated, “We are delighted that Liam is bolstering our specialist environmental sciences team.  He has a great deal of experience and extensive knowledge of working with agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and veterinary pharmaceutical products for global clients. We are working hard to scale our leading, world class environmental services and Liam’s expertise will enable us to bring this prospect to life.”

Liam Burns advised, “After graduating in 2003 with an honours degree in Chemistry and a year working with the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA), I moved to Charles River Laboratories. I gained over eleven years’ experience running both guideline and bespoke non guideline environmental fate studies in the environmental sciences division. I am excited to be working with EPP’s expanding team and look forward to helping to develop their services further.”

EPP’s superb facilities include the impressive Environmental Centre, a fully GLP compliant site which contains five large purpose built environmental laboratories, suitable for all types of freshwater aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology testing; three preparatory labs, a radiochemistry suite suitable for both formulation work and organic synthesis, and an analytical suite suitable for analysis of both radio-labelled and non-radio-labelled compounds.
