Insight into agrochemicals industry from Chemicals America 2016

Building upon our first, and very successful, visit to Chemicals America in 2015, this year Sarah Farr, Business Development Executive, and David Tredgett, General Manager at EPP, found yet again a warm and welcoming hospitality extended to them in Charleston, USA. As part of a larger UK delegation, which included other members of the Chemical Industries Association‘s International Business Promotion Network, Sarah and David found Chemicals America 2016 generated lots of interest and many positive leads.

Global trends from Chemicals America 2016

David attended a variety of the conference talks at Chemicals America 2016 of which the “Global trends and their impact on the agrochemical supply chain” by James Mann was of particular note. It was clear the approach in the agrochemical industry in USA is vastly different to that across Europe and the UK, with differences seen across policies and regulations, approach to sustainability and innovation to attitudes towards GM and organic foods. The agrochemical sector may witness consolidation and this would influence the shape of the industry and the supply chain in the future.
